Our carrier will close its 2G network from 3 April 2017. If you have a 3G Dual Band- or 4G-enabled phone and access to the Optus 3G or 4G network, then this won’t affect you.

If you, or someone you know, has a 2G phone then you’ll need to upgrade to a 3G- or 4G-enabled phone before 3 April 2017 to continue getting access to the Optus network. You can check if your phone uses the 2G network by looking for a 2G, GPRS, EDGE or E icon at the top of the mobile’s screen.
